I have just read 'Enough' by Fadwa Tuqan, 'The Poet of Palestine', and I thought it was terrific, so I'm going to restack it straight away, in case any reader wants a good poem to read on New Year's Eve. Thanks for this, Mike. Happy New Year!

Enough for Me

by Fadwa Tuqan

loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Enough for me to lie in the earth,

to be buried in her,

to sink meltingly into her fecund soil, to vanish ...

only to spring forth like a flower

brightening the play of my countrymen's children.

Enough for me to remain

in my native soil's embrace,

to be as close as a handful of dirt,

a sprig of grass,

a wildflower.

Good eve Sir Michael,

I can’t find the words to begin to tell you how much your work means to me and how it’s changed my perception on almost “everything”!

O I found the words, they simply erupted through my lips as I was talking into this handheld marvelous device. I tapped into The Hypertext,

O Gaud, it’s hyperheaven. Geraldine
