TRUMPENSTEIN
The lily-livered GOP is afraid of Trump for the same reason Doctor Frankenstein was afraid of the monster he created but couldn’t control.
When the man-monster Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president on June 16, 2015, with a campaign rally and speech at Trump Tower in New York City, I was alarmed by his white supremacist dog whistles, did some intensive research, and was, to my knowledge, the first writer to predict that if Trump became president, the United States would end up with Nazi-like detainment/concentration camps.
My background as a translator, editor and publisher of poems about the Holocaust, Trail of Tears and Palestinian Nakba helped me understand Trump’s hitlerian agenda and how he would go about making his white supremacist dreams a reality.
Having been elected president for a second term, Trump will undoubtedly attempt to be become the first American dictator again, and this time he has a vice president — emphasis on “vice” — who will obediently refuse to certify the results of the next election.
Amnesty International on January 21, 2025 observed that: “Barely a couple of hours into his second term, President Trump is already seeking to implement his harmful, racist, anti-immigrant agenda with executive actions. … Trump’s fearmongering scapegoats immigrants for the political failures of elected leaders.”
Amnesty International later issued this warning:
Mass deportation is not only cruel and inhumane – it is also extraordinarily costly.
Right now, Congress is considering almost half a trillion dollars to advance President Trump’s harmful and xenophobic immigration policies, including border militarization and mass deportations that rip families and communities apart.
Critical federal programs like health care and nutrition assistance for children, Medicaid, food stamps, and student loans, will be cut to supercharge the mass deportation machine and continue crackdowns on immigrants and people seeking safety—including family separation, family detention, ICE enforcement at schools, churches, and hospitals.
Speaking of Amnesty International, this poem of mine has been published by the organization and is being used in the training of young human rights activists…
First They Came for the Muslims
by Michael R. Burch
after Martin Niemöller
First they came for the Muslims
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Muslim.
Then they came for the homosexuals
and I did not speak out
because I was not a homosexual.
Then they came for the feminists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a feminist.
Now when will they come for me
because I was too busy and too apathetic
to defend my sisters and brothers?
"First They Came for the Muslims" has been adopted by Amnesty International for its Words That Burn anthology, a free online resource for students and educators.
According to Google the poem once appeared on a staggering 823K web pages. That's a lot of cutting and pasting!
It is indeed an honor to have one of my poems published by such an outstanding organization as Amnesty International, one of the world's finest. Not only is the cause good―a stated goal is to teach students about human rights through poetry―but so far the poetry published seems quite good to me. My poem appears beneath the famous Holocaust poem that inspired it, "First They Came" by Martin Niemöller.
Here's a bit of background information: Words That Burn is an online poetry anthology and human rights educational resource for students and teachers created by Amnesty International in partnership with The Poetry Hour. Amnesty International is the world’s largest human rights organization, with seven million supporters. Its new webpage has been designed to "enable young people to explore human rights through poetry whilst developing their voice and skills as poets." This exemplary resource was inspired by the poetry anthology Words that Burn, curated by Josephine Hart of The Poetry Hour, which in turn was inspired by Thomas Gray's observation that "Poetry is thoughts that breathe and words that burn."

O wow! First They Came for the Muslims being used in the training of young human rights activists! More bragging rights!
Who is that strange woman in that over dramatic black hat and garb occupying the so called white house that’s a burning question for me, who does that monster who partnered with the orange beast work for?
She’s shady, evil looking and throws off an erie dominatrix vibe, who was touchy-feely with the beast aka j epstein they shut that beast up in a hurry, he was ready to squeal. Of course this is my opinion.
