Tucked right in there in the middle of all these "cute and cuddly animal poems" is 'Siren Song' which, in my opinion, is an exquisite poem out of the top drawer, about the dangers of entrapment, and should be read by as many readers as possible.

entreat mariners to save her ...

How can they resist

her faint voice through the mist?

Soon she will savor

the flavor

of sweet human flesh.
